CHARACTER OF CRUDE OILS IN POLAND Summary The present paper deals with the characteristics of 25 Polish crude oils taken in the years 1960-1963 from various oil fields. The elaboration of these characteristics is a part of a great research work carried on to characterize in detail all the crude oils occurring in Poland. When examining the crude oils under consideration, the Laue and Garton method of classification was applied. Moreover, by means of density-ignition constant the paraffin or the cyclic character of crude oils was determined, too. As a result of the examinations it was stated that in most cases (64 per cent) the Polish crude oils represent mixed base oils derived from various fields and various geological formations.
