Abstract

RESISTIVITY MICROLOGGING OF CHANGES IN MOISTURE ABSORPTION OF ROCKS Summary The so far applied geophysical methods do not resolve the problem of detecting pay horizons in the Miocene formations, mainly due to small thicknesses of the individual beds and because of low differentiation between pay and watered horizons. The Petroleum Institute is now elaborating a technique of testing the Miocene oil-gas horizons by means of resistivity micrologging of changes in moisture absorption of rocks. The present paper gives a description of this method.
