AN ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN THE GENESIS OF FLOOD MUDDY DEPOSITS
Summary
The paper puts forward a hypothesis concerning the origin of muddy deposits of the flood facies. The wide distribution of loamy muds characterizing the age of some valley landscape and revealing predominance of fluviodynamic and accumulation regime, makes it possible to treat this bed as a guide horizon in the studies on the development of flood plains of lowland rivers during the Holocene.
