Abstract

SOME IMPORTANT PROBLEMS OF CLAY MINERAL RAW MATERIALS IN POLAND Summary The State Geological Survey may boast a considerable post-war achievement in the reconnaissance and use of the country’s clay mineral raw material deposits. As an example may serve here the documentation of considerable amount of resources of ceramic clays occurring in the marginal area of the Święty Krzyż Mts. and in the Strzegom region, as well as some new large open-cut mines set at that time in motion. The article deals with several important problems concerning clay mineral raw materials in Poland, among which flotation should be mentioned in the first place. The author states that the methods of study of clay mineral raw materials are well developed, however, the researches are conducted on a relatively small scale. In addition, also problem of investigation and use of clay rocks accompanying the various valuable deposits was discussed and the registration and elaboration of clay deposits encountered in prospecting bore holes was considered, as well.
