CERTAIN RESULTS OF TWO-YEAR WORKS AND FURTHER TRENDS IN THE ACTIVITY OF THE STANDING GEOLOGICAL COMMISSION OF THE COUNCIL FOR MUTUAL ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE

Summary
The co-operation between the geological surveys of the countries-members of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance began in 1960. In the two-year period of its activity, the Standing Geological Commission held 6 sessions with the participation of the representatives of socialistic countries-members of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance. Among others, the Commission has considered the following questions: fundamental principles of geological reconnaissance works, co-ordination of working plans, part of the countries-members of the Council in the geological- reconnaissance research works in the Mongolian People's Republic, intensification of works to search for tin ore deposits in the German Democratic Republic, Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia, Mongolian People's Republic, plan of more important scientific and technical researches in geology for 1965-1970, proposals concerning estimate of underground water resources, water supply and many others.
