It is commonly accepted that the genesis of these deposits has greatly been influenced by biogeochemical processes, the intensity of which has been expressed in time and space by numerous factors. So far, approximately 100 deposits are known to occur in the Olsztyn voivodship area. Their total resources in natural state amount to 100 mill. m3.
