HYDROGEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH UNDERGROUND STORAGE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTES
Summary
The problem of underground storage of industrial wastes is discussed from the hydrogeological point of view. Underground storage is one of techniques of neutralization of industrial wastes which, otherwise, could poison or pollute the natural environment. This is especially the case of wastes most harmful to man and hard to remove using other techniques because of technical and economical reasons. The main stages of studies on hydrogeological effects of introduction of wastes to waters circulating at large depths are discussed. Moreover, various techniques of underground storage of industrial wastes are presented.
