Abstract
ON SOME PROBLEMS OF STRATIGRAPHY
Summary
The Principles of the Polish Stratigraphical Classification, Terminology and Nomenclature, prepared under the auspices of the Committee of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, were published in 1975. The Principles have been written with a marked reference to the International Stratigraphic Code. The elaboration and publication of the Principles enabled the Polish stratigraphy to fairly rapidly catch up with the developments in other countries; however, it did not automatically solve all the problems of that discipline. An urgent task now is to introduce the Principles to the geological practice and multiple procedures in this direction has already been initiated.
