Estimating the activity of the Polish geological survey in this period, the author chronologically presents the economical effects of geological works and characterizes the new discovered deposits. Analysing the development of the base of mineral raw materials such as hard coal, brown coal, sulphur, copper ore, common salt and rocky raw materials, the author stresses that the Polish geology continuously conducts intense prospecting works for such raw materials as crude oil, iron ores and potash salts.
Activity in hydrogeology and engineering geology represents another important sector of works of the Polish geological survey, the author says, giving numerous examples of this activity.
Moreover, the author discusses development of a series of disciplines in geological sciences in Poland and briefly characterizes the more important scientifical centres, f.ex. Polish Academy of Sciences, Universities, Technical Universities and Geological Institute.
