Abstract

THE STRUCTURE OF ZECHSTEIN DEPOSITS OF THE WESTERN POMERANIA IN THE LIGHT OF SEISMIC DATA

Summary
The paper presents the characteristics of seismic data obtained in the last few years from the area covered by the map illustrating the tectonics of subsalinary horizon (Fig. 1). The map is based on results of reflection seismic surveys earned out in different years; therefore, the image displayed by the map (Fig. 1) is of different quality, depending on the methodology of measurement and data interpretation, used by a given team. The reflection seismic data obtained and interpreted with .the use of devices with magnetic record of both magnetic and numerical types were recently introduced. A marked improvement, especially in continuity of recording of the subsalinary horizon, resulted from introduction of numerical techniques and repeated survey of the areas of Resko and Świdwin, which are very complex from the point of view of seismic geology. The depth interpretation was carried out with the use of an uniform distribution of mean velocities, elaborated for the Pomeranian Swell and adjoining areas (H. Jankowski, 1975).
