Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF WARSAW REGIONAL DEPRESSION

Summary
A general distribution of piezometer pressures of waters of Tertiary aquifer from the area of Warsaw indicates that the drainage of these waters is convergent with main axes of their outflow, i.e. Vistula and Bug-Narew rivers, despite of isolation by overlaying horizons and a marked deposit pressure. On that background the rate of propagation of Warsaw regional depression of Tertiary waters is characterized. The effects of that depression are found at 30 km distance from the center of the: cone; therefore, this area should be covered by systematic observations on changes in water pressure and quality, aimed at establishing the optimum way of exploitation of the Tertiary aquifer
