Abstract
GEOLOGICAL-PALEONTOLOGICAL COLLECTIONS OF POLISH RESEARCH INSTITUTES AND MUSEUMS
Summary
Documentary geological-paleontological collection in research institutes and museums become more and more numerous. In order to prepare information about those collections, a Commission for Geological Documentary Collections was created at the Paleontological Section of the Polish Geological Society. The Commission ended its activity by presenting proposals of regulations concerning the character and goological-paleontological significance of the collections, an obligation of making collections and their proper preservation and recording. A Geological-Paleontological Team created on 12th March, 1976, is in charge of carrying out the regulations. It will be the task of the Team, among other things, (1) to prepare an inventory of the institutions making collections, (2) determining the range of subjects covered by collections in various museum sections, (3) seeing to the publication of the catalogues of the documentary collections by proper museum sections, and (4) supervising the inventories of the collections.
