Abstract
GEOLOGICAL RELATIONS OF THE CIĘŻKOWICE REGION
Summary
Basing on the collected geological materials from cartographical works and drillings, the author discusses the geological relations of the Ciężkowice region. In the paper there are explained differences so far existing in the interpretation of both superficial and deep structures. The causes of these differences were brought about due to an acceptance that the Istebna sandstones of the lower normal limb of the Ciężkowice structure represent the Ciężkowice sandstones of the reversed limb, as well as due to the reference of the lower Istebna sandstones, penetrated by bore holes C-1- C-4, to the Godula beds, and of their lower part even to the Lower Cretaceous beds.
Beside the stratigraphical and tectonical problems, the author discusses also deep waters, bearing in mind their utility in medical purposes, as well as possibilities of discovering oil and gas deposits in the Ciężkowice region.
