Abstract

HYDROGEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE UPPER SILESIAN COAL BASIN Summary The hydrogeological problems play a great part in economical development of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. The area under consideration should be regarded as a sufficiently recognized one, however, not uniformly, from the hydrogeological point of view. The study on complicated hydrogeological conditions has been carried on still before the war. However, a considerable development of the studies has been observed only after the war. Most important results have been obtained here by F. Rutkowski, J. Gołąb, R. Krajewski and others. The article presents a chronological review of hydrogeological investigations which have been con-ducted in the area of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin.
