Przejawy mineralizacji barytowej w utworach triasu śląsko-krakowskiego

Abstract

BARITE MINERALIZATION IN THE TRIASSIC FORMATION OF THE SILESIAN-CRACOW AREA Summary Knowledge of the occurrence of barite in the Silesian-Cracow Triassic formations was so far limited to the scarce information on appearance of this mineral in the western part of the Bytom trough. However, the recent prospecting works made in the eastern parts of the basin led to discovering of new barite sites in the Trzebionka region, at Kąty near Chrzanów and in many other points in the vicinity of Olkusz. The article deals with the results of prospecting works, the characteristic and the conditions of these occurrences. Moreover, the problem of genesis of barites is also discussed.
