Abstract

THE PRESENT-DAY DATA ON THE ORIGIN OF PETROLEUM Summary The author discusses the always real problem of the origin of petroleum. Among various hypotheses concerning this origin that representing opinion that the petroleum is a product of biogene origin is most widespread. However, along with this hypothesis, a hypothesis of inorganic origin of petroleum is also taken into consideration. The author gives some views on this problem, represented during the VI World Petroleum Congress in Frankfurt.
