Abstract

STUDIES ON MODIFICATION OF SURFICIAL PROPERTIES OF CLAY MINERALS Summary The paper presents the results of studies on the modification of properties of clay raw materials under the effect of mineral acids, and fluor and organic compounds. The studied were carried out with the ,use of phase and structural analysis techniques including X-ray, infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, electron microscopy and other methods. Sorption and catalytic properties of the products of activization were determined. It was found on that the activation processes lead to amelioration of the surficial properties of clay minerals, which is of remarkable Importance for some technological processes.
