ELABORATION PRINCIPLES FOR METALLOGENIC MAPS IN THE LIGHT OF DIRECTIVES OF THE SUBCOMMISION FOR THE METANOGENIC MAP OF THE WORLD
Summary
The quantity of metallogenic maps and of mineral resource maps being published now seems to be very high in comparison with general geologic maps issued. Such a situation is to be observed not only in Poland, but also over the whole world.
In connection with this, an appeal was made during the conference of the Subcommision for the Metallogenic Map of the World in 1962 in Paris, to the institutions of all countries, to intensify the cartographic works on mineral resource maps. To unify the principles of elaboration of both metallogenic maps and mineral resource maps, the Subcommision has elaborated some general directives and recommendations, which are discussed in the present paper.
