Abstract
MODELLING OF CEMENT RAW MATERIAL DEPOSITS AND SEARCHING FOR OPTIMAL EXPLOITATIONAL METHODS
Summary
Marked differences between the estimations of resources of large Bohemian deposits of cement raw materials based on the results of geological prospecting and those made during the deposit exploitation were found about 1960. Supplementary reconnaissance has shown that the differences result from inappropriate boring techniques, inaccuracy of laboratory analyses and inappropriate method of estimation of resources. Ail the inexactitudes resulted from insufficient experience as well as the principles obligatory in those times. The cooperation of several institutions made it possible to solve several checking examples and to made undoubtful progress in the technique and methodology of prospecting. Attempts were also made to revise and change premises of evaluation and estimation of resources of cement raw materials which resulted in development of a new methodology based on spatial modelling of deposits. This new direction made also possible constructing time models of deposits which leads to optimalization of the mode of exploitation.
