Abstract

PERSPECTIVES OF NICKEL OCCURRENCE IN THE SUDETIC BASIC INTRUSIONS Summary The article contains discussion on perspective concerning the occurrence of sulphide ore zones of magmatic type, connected with the basic and ultrabasic intrusions in Sudetes. In the first part of the article, the author discusses genetic types of nickel deposits and their occurrences in Poland. Furthermore, he presents the metallogenic, structural-tectonic and petrographic characteristics proving the possibilities of nickel occurrence in the Sudetic intrusions, in comparison with many other analogous structural units. The general geological conditions of occurrence of these intrusions point at their great perspectives and substantiate the necessity of conducting the geological-prospecting works. The first works of such a type are being carried on, at present, by the Department of Nonferrous Metal Ore Deposits of the Geological Institute.
