GEOTECHNICAL PROPERTIES OF OVERBURDEN ROCKS IN THE KONIN BROWN COAL BASIN
Summary
In 1961 a study was made to determine the physical and mechanical properties of rocks occurring in the overburden of the brown coal open-cut mines in the regions of Konin and Turek.
In the article the author discusses the geological structure of the area, gives the engineering-geological characteristics of the selected rock types and presents the properties of the boulder clays of both the Middle Polish and the Baltic glaciations and those of the Poznań clays.
