Abstract


UTILIZATION DEGREE OF THE QUATERNARY CLAYEY RAW MATERIALS IN THE INDUSTRY OF BUILDING CERAMICS

Summary
In the article, the part of the Quaternary clayey raw materials in the building ceramics industry of Poland is tabularly presented. 647 deposits, geologically recognized up to now, are taken into consideration. On the Table I, quantity of deposits, output of raw material in 1960, and state of resources of the Quaternary, Tertiary, Mesozoic and Palaeozoic deposits are presented in percentages, as well as deposits of uncertain geological age are shown.
On the Table II, the part of individual genetical kinds of the Quaternary clayey raw materials, such as alluvial and weathered clays and silts, loesses, yoldia clays, marginal lake clays and muds, boulder clays, as well as unsubdivided Quaternary deposits are given.
On the Table III, the role of detached kinds of the Quaternary raw materials is shown in the light of all the clayey raw materials for building ceramics.
Table IV presents in percentages the part of the Quaternary clayey raw material deposits in the individual districts of the country.
