Abstract

ORIENTATION OF THE LINEAR STRUCTURES IN THE CAMBRIAN SCHIST SERIES OF THE PIEPRZOWE MTS Summary The investigations were carried out on the Cambrian linear structures of the Pieprzowe-Mountains (Vistula-river bend, near Sandomierz) being represented here by the drag folds. The axes of folds first of all plunge towards NW or WNW, seldom towards SE. The second transverse fold system runs from NE to SW. The axes plunge as a rule towards NE. The main direction of the linear structures presents itself as an oblique one to the course of strata within the intersection of the south-eastern area of the Holy-Cross Mountains. During the main folding time of the part of the Palaeozoic formation in the Holy-Cross Mountains, the direction of tectonical transport was a south-western one.
