Abstract

GAS FIELD DISCOVERING POSSIBILITIES IN THE TRIASSIC DEPOSITS OF THE FORESUDETIC MONOCLINE IN THE LIGHT OF THE RESULTS OF STRUCTURE DRILLING SULECHÓW IG 1

Summary
Structure drilling Sulechów IG-1 has been situated on the regional seismic profile in the western part of the Foresudetic Monocline. The bore-hole was completed at a depth of 1200 metres after a 100 percent coring. In the result of analysis of the geological and geophysical materials obtained from this bore-hole, one has decided the test the water-bearing horizons in the Triassic deposits occurring here at a depth from 358,9 to 1200 metres. In all the horizons examined, the outflows of strongly mineralized brines of chloride-calcic type have been received. Pressure of waters in the individual horizons was more or less the same as hydrostatic one. Both the character of brines and the presence of biophilic elements such as J and Br allow to regard these brines as the waters accompanying the oil and gas deposits.
Along with waters also gases occurring in small quantities have been recorded in three horizons examined. Analyses of these gases have shown the presence of hydrocarbons. Brines and gases of the other horizons have also smelt of hydrocarbons. The examinations have permitted to estimate the possibilities of gas deposit discovering in the Foresudetic Monocline area. The results encourage also to begin, on a larger scale, the additional exploration works in order to discover the gas fields in the Triassic deposits of the Foresudetic Monocline.
