Abstract

SEISMIC VELOCITIES IN THE ŁÓDŹ-SZCZECIN SYNCLINORIUM IN THE LIGHT OF THE VERTICAL TIME ANALYSES OF DEEP BORE-HOLES

Summary
The article deals with an analysis of the vertical times obtained from measurements of the mean velocities in 30 bore-holes made in the area of the Łódź-Szczecin synclinorium and on its marginal zone. The vertical times from the Earth surface to the base of the formations of Tertiary, Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic have been compiled on diagrams in the time-depth system. After compilation, the influences of Tertiary, Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits have been reduced by turns. The values have been approximated by functions through selection of suitable empirical formulae of T= To + kZ and T = kZn type.
As a result of the analysis performed, the practically useful dependences have been obtained which allow to more elastic adaptation of the velocity distribution for the geological cross-sections.
