Abstract
REMARKS EN THE GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF NORTHWESTERN PART OF FORE-SUDETIC BLOCK AND ITS ENVIRONMENT Summary The paper deals with the results of investigation works carried out in the north-western part of the Fore-sudetic Block and with the appearing form of geological structure of this region as well as with possibilities of the copper ore prospections. In 1957 the area of supposed occurrence of Permo-Mesozoic deposits was selected by the author for reconnaissance at the north-western front of the Fore-sudetic Block. The results of drillings attested the reasonableness of the foresights and threw a new light on the structure of the block and of the surrounded deposits. The border of the north-western extension of block can be exactly localized in the Zagań region. The crystalline rock complex of the older substratum building up the elevated massif of the Fore-sudetic Block in the north-western portion shows a tendency to deviation from the previous SE-NW direction to the north. The surrounding outcroppings of the red beds, Zechstein and New Red Sandstane deposits show a greater extension of these sediments in the northern direction. The Zechstein deposits were ascertained in all bore-holes situated at the front of the block. The occurrence of an interesting copper mineralization in the Lower Zechstein deposits, predestinates this region to intensive investigation and prospection works. Author discusses also the other perspective areas of Zechstein deposit occurrences existing around the Fore-sudetic Block as well as within the NE and SW flanks of the Northern Sudetic Basin insufficiently recognized up to now with the regard to the deposit problems.Downloads
