DETECTION OF WATER AND GAS HORIZONS BY MEANS OF DRILLING GEOPHYSICS METHOD UNDER CONDITIONS OF THE RYBNIK COAL DISTRICT
Summary
A method for detection of water and gas horizons occurring under geological conditions of the Rybnik Coal District was elaborated by Oil Industry Geological Department. The elaboration of this method was made on the basis of results of the experimental investigation carried out in the coal bore-holes drilled in the area mentioned. These investigations concerned the gas loggings, resistivimeter measurements as well as determination of porosity and permeability of rocks, mainly hard coal.
In this paper author discusses these investigations made, gives the obtained results and the following conclusions: the gas logging permit to very exact measure of gas presence in coal bore-hole; the thermic analyses were made in the right way allowing to detect the gas horizons of relatively great formation pressure as well as to locate the places of water circulation between individual horizons. The results obtained with resistivimeter complete and confirm the results of the geophysical investigations.
