Abstract
ATTEMPTS OF GRAPHICAL PRESENTATION OF MINING SUBSIDENCES, IN THE UPPER SILESIA AREA, FOR THE ENGINEERING GEOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
Summary
One of the most important problems of the engineering geology in the Upper Silesia area are the ground subsidences and connected with them the building damages resulting of the underground workings. During the elaboration of the geological-engineering maps of the Upper Silesia one made some first attempts to present this problem graphically on the map surface. Mining areas were divided into parcels for which the maximum unit subsidence was computed on the basis on the general theory of W. Budryk.
All the coal beds were calculated there. Interpreting the values of subsidences on the individual parcels one traced isolines that separated areas of various subsidences supposed.
