Abstract

GEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS OF NEW RESOURCES FOR INDUSTRY OF BUILDING MATERIALS CARRIED OUT IN THE ROZTOCZE (SE POLAND) Summary Since 1957 research works for raw materials are carried on in the Lublin Roztocze (SE Poland). Tertiaty, partly also Quaternary deposits were under examination. Mineral resources which occur in this region are a basis for the exploitation of building materials. General characteristic of these resources was obtained. Twenty one deposits of limestones and calcareous sandstones were preliminarily examined. Tortonian and Santonian deposits are of the best value for economy. Usefulness of the limestones from Brusno was stated coating of multibrick blocks for building requirements and for burning limestones for lime.
