Abstract
ENGINEERING GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF KARST IN THE VICINITY OF CZĘSTOCHOWA
Summary
Engineering geological research of karst regions in Poland were started in 1946. The industrial building is suitable, from economic view-point, in some karst areas. The cost of geological research and of strengthing of substratum was only about 1,5 per cent of the general cost of building, in the case described. A relation between the building fitness of a karst area and the genesis of karst is described. A short engineering geological description of the vicinity of Częstochowa is given. The suggestion is made about the suitability of application of geophysical methods.
