APPLICATION OF AUTOMATIC DIGITAL COMPUTERS FOR INTERPRETATION OF GRAVIMETER AND MAGNETIC SURVEYS
Summary
The results of application of automatic digital computers for interpretation of gravimeter and magnetic surveys are presented.
Application of computers may be done in two ways: 1) by partial automation of computations using formulae (6-7) and digital computer, 2) by full automation of computations using the computers of such class as universal, electronic, digital computer XYZ or the set of statistical machines of “Artima” – type punched card system.
The tests completed proved that the application of automatic digital computers of high class shortens 4-8 times the calculating time, raises the quality of elaborations, rteduced about 50 per cent the costs of average elaboration and allows to introduce new precise methods of interpretation impossible if no machines of such class are applied.
