CHARACTERISTIC OF QUARTZITIC SHALE AND ACCOMPANYING ROCKS
Summary
Samples of quartzitic shale, sericite shale, quartzite, feldspar rock and feldspar-quartzose rock were analysed. Mineral components of the rocks are characterized and the physical and chemical properties are outlined. The shaped bricks made from quartzitic shale are resistible to high temperature, to the corosive gases and other chemical agents.
The grain size of quartzite from Jegłowa rather uniform and averages between 0.1 and 1.5 mm and the abundance of quartz between 98 and 100 per cent. The mineral composition of seritic shale in volumical proprieties of feldspar and feldspar- quartzose an iron hydroxides – 0.93. The physical and chemetric percentage is: sericite – 74.54, quartz – 20.44, feldspar – 3.0, biotite – 1.17.
