Abstract

CONTINENTAL CHLORIDE DEPOSITS IN UPPER PERMIAN OF POLAND Summary Some core materials of Uppermost Zechstein evaporates from central Poland (subcycle PZ4d-e, Fig. 1-3), suspected as continental in origin, were analyzied, using the elaborated models of the playa salt lake sedimentation and facies relations (Fig. 4 - 5). The chloride deposits of PZ4d age, mainly clayey salt rocks and "zubers", had formed in deeper central and nearshore salt lake parts and chlorides of PZ4e subcycle origined in shallower, nearshore lake zone. The possibilities of correlations of sedimentary cycles within playa salt lake were discussed and it was concluded, that establishing a proper event stratigraphy scheme, universal for all sedimentary basin of Uppermost Zechstein in Poland, needs a detail sedimentary analysis and revision of all described till now stratigraphic units.
