Abstract
ISOTOPIC STUDIES OF PISOLITIC FROM ASWAN AREA (EGYPT)
Summary
The paper contains a review of the newest works in the field of oxygen/hydrogen isotopic studies. Isotopic composition can be used to distinguish clays of different origin. The preliminary results of mineralogy and oxygen/hydrogen isotopic ratios on pisoIitic kaolins from Aswan area (southern Egypt) are presented. On the basis of isotopic data it is suggested that the pisoIitic kaolins were formed in conditions of surficial lateritic weathering.
