Abstract

WARTA GLATIATION SEQUENCE NEAR NIESZAWA

Summary
Two groups of diamictons were distinguished within the Warta Glaciation deposits basing on sedimentological analysis. First one includes diamictons formed in basal parts of continental ice, the second are related to subaqueous zone. The diamictons of first type exhibit well preserved glaciodynamic deformation structures. During the Wart a Glaciation two episodes of ice entrance have taken place on studied area, pro ceded by stages of glaciofluvial and stagnant-lake accumulation. In ice ablation events have formed the slumped and stratified diamictons, the last ones separated cyclically with stagnant- lake deposits.
