Koncentracja rtęci w osadach aluwialnych na obszarach zurbanizowanych Ziemi Kłodzkiej
Abstract
CONCENTRATION OF MERCURY IN ALLUVIAL DEPOSITS OF URBANIZED AREA OF THE KŁODZKO REGION (SW POLAND) Summary In the Kłodzko region (Middle Sudeten Mts., SW Poland), 349 samples of alluvial deposits (of mud-clay fraction) have been taken in 44 town and villages. The mercury content was determined with mercurometric method. It was found that within urbanized areas anomalous concentrations of mercury occur. Average Hg content in towns varies from 97 - 569 ppb, with a maximum of 4108 ppb, and in villages from 44 to 502 ppb, with a maximum of 1288 ppb. The alluvial geochemical background for the Kłodzko region is 109 ppb. Anomalous concentrations of Hg are more common in towns (78.6%) than in villages (66.7%), and derive from industrial and municipal activity, the latter being of great importance.Issue
