Abstract

PALYNOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE ZECHSTEIN AND LOWER BUNTSANDSTEIN IN THE NORTH-WESTERN PART OF THE HOLY CROSS MTS. (CENTRAL POLAND)

Summary
A scheme of spore-pollen zonation of the Zechstein and lower Buntsandstein deposits in the L. NW part of the Holy Cross Mts. is presented. Two types of microfloral assemblages were distinguished: late Permian (Lueckisporites virkkiae palynologic zone) and early Triassic. (Lundbladispora obsoleta - Protohaploxypinus pantii zone). In the first type, three assemblages were distinguished: L. virkkiae Ab (within the first Zechstein cycle), L. virkkiae Ac (within the third Zechstein cycle) and L. virkkiae Bc (within the Top Terrigenous Series). In the second type only one assemblage was identified (within the lower Buntsandstein). A correlation of the Holy Cross Mts. assemblages with coeval spectra described from other regions of Europe was established as well.
