Abstract
THE POSSIBILITIES OF USE OF NEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS IN STUDIES OF MAIN DOLOMITE (ZECHSTEIN) REEF ZONES
Summary
The thickness-facies analyses used in search for reef-type deposits in the Main Dolomite (Zechstein) of Poland are discussed. The possibility of use of neutron activation analysis in these studies is shown. In accordance with same new views on sedimentation of chemical deposits, bromine profile was used for zonation of the Main Dolomite. Progressive and regressive sedimentary cycles were differentiated with reference to the bromine profile. Is appeared that epigenetic bitumens should be regarded as related to regressive cycles. This is further supported by the data concerning bromine concentration in oil from the Main Dolomite (Zechstein) horizon.
