Abstract
DEPRESSIONAL CONE RELATED TO DRAINAGE OF "BEŁCHATÓW" BROWN COAL DEPOSIT
Summary
Drainage of Bełchatów brown coal deposit will result in origin of a wide depressional cone. At its maximum, the cone will have the outline of ellipse with the longest axis longitudinal and over 50 km long and the shortest meridional and over 40 km long. Decrease of hydrostatic pressure in pressurized aquifers and drop of water table in aquifer not under pressure will result in escape of water from wells at present exploited for consumption, deterioration in quality of used lands and forests, decrease in water flow in some streams and land subsidence.
