Abstract

CHARACTER OF CURVES OF SEVEN-ELECTRODE SYNTHETIC REMOTE RESISTANCE LOGGING UNDER DIFFERENT GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Summary
The paper deals with new varietes of curves of seven-electrode remote resistance logging with current adjustment in central electrode, hitherto not used in current geological surveys. The curves were plotted and compared with both the curves from seven-electrode and three-electrode remote resistance logging with current adjustment in screeing electrodes and the curves from induction logging. The differences between curves from seven-electrode remote logging depending on geological conditions were analysed on the basis of some selected well logs. The analysis showed that the curves of remote resistance logging with current adjustment in central electrode are of highest informational value in the case of low-resistance sections. This is especially important in the case of boreholes in law-resistance rocks which are filled with highly mineralized washer and, therefore, unsuitable for inductional logging.
