Abstract

NODULES IN THE WEISSLIEGENDES (LOWER PERMIAN) OF THE LUBIN AREA Summary Black, red and mixed nodules occurring in the Wessliegendes beneath the base of the Copper-Bearing Shales are characterized in this paper. The chemical analyses showed that black nodules are strongly reducing (C org., FeS2 and FeO) in comparison with the red nodules which are oxidating (Fe2O3). The presence of black nodules evidences reducing environment in some parts of the basin in times of sedimentation of white sandstones in which they occur.
