Abstract

ESTIMATIONS OF MEDICAL WATER RESOURCES IN POLAND

Summary
In Poland, the reserves of medicinal waters demonstrated in all the reserve categorie (C, B, A) and dispositional reserves (the amount of which is defined at 2%), were equal 2046 m3/h on January l, 1977. These reserves comprise 1574 m3/h of mineral waters and 472 m3/h of poorly mineralized waters. About 30% of these waters are used for medicinal purposes. Large reserves are connected with brines found in the Polish Lowlands whereas the share of acidulous and sulphate waters is rather small.
