Abstract
ZINC AND LEAD ORES OF THE UPPER SILESIAN TRIASSIC AND PERSPECTIVES OF THEIR PROSPECTING
Summary
The paper presents general characteristics of the Silesian-Cracow Triassic rocks. In addition, zinc and lead ores connected with these rocks and formerly known and exploited in the regions of Bytom, Chrzanów and Olkusz, and the newly discovered ones in the Zawiercie region are discussed.
'The methods of prospecting from determining of perspective areas to recognition works up to the Polish mining category C2 in the deposit area, being the result of many years’ experience, are presented in the paper. The selection of areas for studies and the evaluation of their perspectiveness are made using prospecting criteria established taking into account regularities in distribution of ore mineralization. Prospecting and recognition are carried cut according to previously worked out projects and criteria of demonstration of ore resources.
