Abstract

HEAVY METAIS IN ALLUVIAL DEPOSITS OF THE ZIEMIA KŁODZKA (SW POLAND) Summary Contents of: Co, Ni, Zn, Pb, As, Hg, Sr and Y were examined in 2086 stream sediment samples collected from 54 rivers and streams of the Ziemia Kłodzka territory, Sudetes Mts., SW Poland. Two types of anomalies were distinguished: natural - caused by ore mineralizations and different content of elements in Proterozoic and Paleozoic rock complexes of the Ziemia Kłodzka, and anthropogenic anomalies caused by mining and industry activity as well as municipal activity. Weak anomaly, anomaly and strong anomaly of heavy metals in alluviall sediments were distinguished. It was ascertained that anomaly and strong anomaly content of heavy metals in 38% were caused by natural reasons and in 62% were results of anthropogenic pollution. Anthropogenic pollution shares between mining (34,8%), industry (45,7%) and municipal activity (19,5%). Anomaly and strong anomaly content of heavy metals in alluvial sediments cover 52,9% of the Ziemia Kłodzka territory and strong anomaly content of heavy metals covers 8,4% of the Ziemia Kłodzka territory.
