A METHOD OF ELECTRIC RESISTIVITY PENETRATIVE LOGGING - EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION
Summary
A method of penetrometer-based electrical resistivity logging (PPO) is presented. It consists in geoelectrical measurements made with the use of probes driven or pushed down into loose geological formation. The examples illustrating the application of the method into hydrogeological, geological and engineering investigation as well as into monitoring migration of groundwater pollution are given. As a result of the PPO survey, a detailed geological cross-section (i.e. lithology, layer thicknesses and water table position) as well as some chosen petrophysical parameters can be determined.
