Summary
Requirements of modern mechanized underground mining in geological-engineering surveying of properties of rock massif forming deposit and its surrounding are precised. The engineering rock classifications and various methods of evaluation of rock massif in mining works are briefly discussed. Same proposals concerning methods of studies and classification of rocks on the basis of test drillings made from the surface are also given.
