NEW POSSIBILITIES OF GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY OF SEDIMENTARY ROCKS IN DRILLINGS
Summary
The paper discusses the problem of feasibility of application of borehole method of activation studies in direct determination of Al2O3 content and reconstruction of lithological column comprising sandy-clay, allithic, and carbonate rocks and rock coals. On the basis of extensive experimental material obtained from a large number of drillings in the area of the Lublin Coal Basin, the author suggests that the activation method should he included in the range of geophysical methods currently used in reconstructing lithological profile of sedimentary rocks.
