Morfogenetyczna działalność wód wezbraniowych związana z zatorami lodowymi w dolinie Wisły środkowej
Abstract
MORPHOGENETIC ACTIVITY OF FLOOD WATERS RELATED TO ICE JAMS IN MIDDLE VISTULA RIVER VALLEY Summary Rises of river water due to ice jams results in specific erosion and sedimentation in flood-plain areas. Forms originating in result of these processes are easily traceable in air photos and they may be subdivided into two groups: single erosional furrows (Fig. l) and digitate erosional incisions (Figs. 2, 3, 4). Ice jams usually originate in zones of numerous sandbanks and thick deposit bodies in river channel and at terrace surface. The activity of waters dammed by ice jams is one of agents resulting in local modifications of morphogenesis of Middle Vistula River floodplains.Downloads
