Abstract

CURRENT PROBLEMS OF MINING GEOLOGY IN BROWN COAL OPENCUT MINE A T BEŁHATÓW Summary The paper deals with current problems of mining geology, connected with construction of brown coal opencut mine at Bełchatów. The problems from the f'ield of hydrogeology, engineering geology and deposit geology are connected with both the deposit and surrounding rock massif. They are not limited to the areas of mining works, being also encountered in the neighborhood. Some general information on deposit and its structure is given and problems connected with hydrogeology, engineering geology, storage of removed overburden, lad subsidence due to drainage, and the use of accompanying raw materials are discussed.
