THE BUILD-UP OF THE BEŁCHATÓW BROWN COAL DEPOSIT
Summary
The paper deals with preliminary works connected with construction of brown coal opencut mine at Bełhatów as well as extension of the base and infrastructure. The exploitation of coal in the Bełchatów mine will begin in this year but this requires removal of about 70,000,000 m3 of overburden, lowering of groundwater level and completion of works connected with the IVth stage of mine construction.
The mine is designed to give 38-40 millions t of brown coal for the use by power plants which should be giving 4320 MW.
